In 2018, CIECA will continue to provide its members and the wider road safety community with an extensive range of professional and scientific platforms with the ultimate goal of improving the quality of driver licensing systems in all CIECA member countries. Closer collaborations and stronger working relationships are becoming increasingly important in facilitating a truly integrated approach to the provision of better driving licensing services for citizens around the globe, and we look forward to working with all our members in their best interest.

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 50th CIECA General Assembly and Congress that will take place in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st May 2018. Both events, hosted by the Driver & Vehicle Agency, will be held in the Europa Hotel, which is located in Belfast City Centre.

The theme of the 50th CIECA Congress will be “Safe driving for life: changing attitude and behaviour through education, training and testing”, and will focus on possible measures that can be taken to influence attitude and behaviour to reduce the high rate of road traffic incidents in our roads, which all too often result in death and serious injury, caused by young novice drivers.

Our Congress Programme this year will follow the highly successful model from previous events, while incorporating new suggestions from valuable stakeholders. As it is usual, our Congress will offer the efficient organisation that attendees have come to expect from CIECA events, we will debate, and we will have opportunities to enjoy presentations given by distinguished speakers, reunite with old friends, make new friends and get inspired to gain new directions in our professional lives.

Our aim is to make our 50th Congress an unforgettable success, and we do need your participation to make history.

It will be my pleasure to greet you in Belfast, Northern Ireland!
